Shelly Presence Gen4 – testing presence in our living room
A new little helper has arrived in our living room: Shelly Presence Gen4. We are still testing it and exploring how it can make everyday life a little smarter with Nexus.

The sensor uses mmWave radar to detect presence, including small movements when someone is sitting still. That makes it interesting for a living room where we enjoy settling into the sofa for a while.
Three zones and plenty of ideas
We have set up three zones in the living room and connected the sensor to Nexus, our Home Assistant system. We are now testing how reliably it detects presence and how the zones can help control the lighting. Our sofa seats also suggest ideas such as having Nexus start the computer and TV when we sit down, with conditions for the right time and for us being at home.
We will follow up once we have tested it more, sharing both what works well and what needs adjusting. There is no final verdict yet – Tussan has not submitted her report either.
